Please join us at our February meeting on Tuesday, February 15th (to avoid Valentine’s Day) with State Senator John Whitmire (Senator Whitmire’s bio is shown further down) who will discuss the last legislative session.
We (Bellaire and Braeswood) have just been redistricted into Senate District 15 and, consequently, Senator John Whitmire now represents us in the Texas Senate.
Note that Senator Whitmire is running for re-election and has a Democratic primary opponent – Molly Cook. Per our bylaws, we do not endorse candidates in the primary and the fact that Senator Whitmire is our February speaker does not constitute an endorsement by the Bellaire/Braeswood Democrats. Molly Cook has been invited to introduce herself at the beginning of the meeting.
The meeting will take place both in-person and on Zoom. For those of you comfortable to meet in person, we will be meeting at the Hickory Pit BBQ located at 6601 S. Rice Ave., Bellaire, 77401 and if you would prefer to join us Zoom, use the following link for the Zoom meeting
